Great effort this past week, the team is really starting to jell at a high level. Let's keep up the hard work as we make the final stretch of preparation for the State Tournament. I have attached an updated calendar with the State Games listed, they are also below. At this time I do not have a playoff schedule for Westboro but it will be coming soon. A new practice schedule will also be coming out soon where we will get an extra amount of ice time to prepare; you need to make every effort to make these practices. Also our Perini weekend is from 3/31 – 4/6, so far Wellesley has paid and is locked in, I am pursuing others.

We have practice this Thursday at 6:50, Saturday at 4:00pm (full ice), trying to get a scrimmage for this slot, and Sunday at 7:10pm. Roger will be running things this week as my Grandmother passed away this weekend and we have to travel to Philadelphia for the funeral on Thursday not sure yet if we are coming back on Saturday or Sunday.

Quincy Tournament

Team,

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday 2/19 4:20pm

The other teams are Weymouth, Quincy and Coastal Stars.

Also we have our last regular season league game Friday 2/22 vs Franklin at 6:50pm.

Calendar Update from Coach

Please mark your calendars with the following dates:

State Tournament: March 14-16, we will play on Friday and Saturday and hopefully make the medal round on Sunday. This year our level is being hosted by District 7, Worcester, so there should be no need to stay over. I will go to a meeting on February 24th at which time I will get the official schedule and details.


Quincy/Kiwanis Tournament: February 18-24, I have signed us up for this local tournament based on the team vote last month. This is winter vacation week, games are held during the week with the playoffs on the weekend. I will get a schedule sometime at the beginning of the month of February. Cost per player will be $46.81 if all 16 kids can play. Please do not pay me yet until I find out if there are any last minute conflicts and I will adjust the cost accordingly.

Golf Day
We still need sponsors and players – is there anything that you can provide to sponsor or to be provided for give-a-aways or auction??
Can you put together a 4-some and enjoy a great day out on the links?
Raffle Tickets – please let me know how the ticket sales are going – I have not seen any stubs from our kids – please get them to me and let me know if you need more tickets.

Framingham Youth Hockey - Golf Tourney

The Framingham Youth Hockey fund raiser is underway. The primary event is the 13th Annual Golf Tournament – at Charter Oaks in Hudson, MA on Oct. 22nd. The Bramble format allows you to play your own ball from Fairway to Green (after picking the best Drive of your 4-some) and allows players of all skill levels to enjoy the course.

There are many way to help make the fundraiser a success:
Play Golf - Get the clubs out one last time before the winter season kicks in. The fee is $175/player; which includes a light breakfast and Dinner. Whether you have a foursome or want to be paired up with some others – sign up and enjoy!
Auction – donate items for a silent auction or raffle at the tournament. Laura (my wonderful wife) will be donating a custom cake design of the winners choice for the raffle/auction. Please see me if you would like to donate any items/services.
Sponsor a Hole – either a family or business can sponsor any of the holes in the course. It’s a $100 cost and gets you great visibility at the tournament.
Raffle – we have tickets for ALL the players to sell. Each family is asked to sell 5 tickets (at $10/each) – The main draw is for 4 tickets for the 2008 Red Sox season – game and date to be determined. In addition, many other items will be raffled off.

Flyers Dominate Demons!

Great way to start the season - team shook off early cobwebs, and dominated periods 2 and 3. The next game is Friday, Sept. 14th, at 5:05 against Baystate.
